Heart-to-Heart: Discussing the future of Cardiovascular Genetics care in BC
Friday, February 9, 2024, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
This panel discussion with BC cardiovascular genetics experts on the utility of evidence-based genetic testing in cardiology, focused on three key areas:
- cascade screening
- polygenic risk scores
- new guidelines in cardiomyopathies and heart failure
The discussion centred on the value of adopting genetics with the family as the centre of care, moving the paradigm from the initial patient to at-risk relatives, and how this informs the implementation of the new Provincial Cardiovascular Genetics Program and the future of cardiovascular genetics care in BC.
