Linda is a semi-retired high school performing arts teacher. In addition to volunteering as a patient partner, she volunteers for the RCMP Restorative Justice Program and teaches Mindfulness to youth and adults.

Her recent involvement with the PGX for Depression project since 2020 allowed a deep dive into genetics, health economic modeling, and the opportunity to become a patient researcher. In addition, it led to the publication of the following article: Co‑learning commentary: a patient partner perspective in mental health care research. Linda Riches, Lisa Ridgway, Louisa Edwards.

Linda believes in the value of People With Lived Experience becoming agents of change in all aspects of transforming health care. She looks forward to the day when all health care practitioners/researchers are in concordance with that belief.
