Alice holds the position of Executive Director of Clinical Ethics and Spiritual Care Services at the Provincial Health Service Authority (PHSA) and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Beyond her roles at PHSA and UBC, Alice is deeply engaged in national ethics endeavors. She contributes her expertise as a member of the Inter Agency Advisory Panel on Research Ethics and serves on CIHR’s Advisory Committee on Ethics. Additionally, she chairs the Public Health Ethics Consultative Group for the Public Health Agency of Canada. Alice's research interests revolve around pediatric bioethics, public health ethics, and ethical issues in genetics and genomics. Before specializing in ethics, Alice worked as a genetic counselor in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. She holds a Master's degree in Human Sciences from Oxford University, a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from Sarah Lawrence College, a Master's degree in Public Health from Columbia University, and a PhD in Genetics and Ethics from UBC.
