Interoperability depends on more than technology. It requires strong data standards, trusted partnerships and collaboration across sectors. In this webinar, Dr. Emma Griffiths from the Centre for Infectious Disease Genomics and One Health (CIDGOH) at Simon Fraser University, will share practical examples from her work with federal and provincial partners, diverse data repositories including NCBI/ENA, Pathoplexus and iMicroSeq, as well as international initiatives such as IPSN, PHA4GE, GA4GH and HL7. The session will explore how data standards support stronger data sharing, integration and communication across organizations and platforms.
What you'll learn in this session:
- How data standards enable interoperability across genomics systems and platforms
- Why collaboration across sectors and jurisdictions is essential to connected data ecosystems
- Examples of successful data sharing between Canadian and international partners
- How stronger interoperability can improve the value and usability of genomics data
