The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most significant outbreaks in recent history and has presented severe public health challenges.

The scale and intensity of the pandemic around the globe presents the ongoing risk that even well-resourced healthcare systems can be overwhelmed. British Columbia (BC) has provided one of the most effective responses to the pandemic.

On Oct 28, 2020, Genome BC hosted its 11th Annual Don Rix Distinguished Keynote Address (DRDK) bringing together the unique perspectives from three BC leaders who have made an indelible impact in the fight against COVID-19.

“Battle Lines: Fighting COVID-19 at the intersection of policy, treatment and prevention,” featured BC’s Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, along with Dr. Mel Krajden, Medical Director at the BC Centre for Disease Control, and Dr. Carl Hansen, CEO of AbCellera.
