Genome BC's Annual Genomics Forum aims to help bridge the gap between academia, industry and policy makers, sharing advancements and sparking new ideas in research toward solving some of the world’s pressing challenges through life sciences.
Each year, we bring together world-class innovators in life sciences to discuss topical issues, share knowledge and research outcomes, provide networking opportunities, and more.

Traditionally, the Annual Genomics Forum brings together leaders from the life sciences community, business, industry, and policy makers. This year's hybrid event is also open to the general public as well as teachers and students.

The 2026 Genomics Forum explores how BC-led research and global partnerships are advancing our understanding of biodiversity in a rapidly changing world. Through expert conversations spanning conservation genomics, Indigenous stewardship, biodiversity monitoring, and natural products research, the Forum highlights how genomic tools are informing real-world decisions to preserve and manage ecosystems.
Join researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders to connect across disciplines, discover emerging opportunities and help shape evidence-based action for the future of biodiversity.

Is there a separate registration for the poster competition?
Is there a separate registration for the poster competition?
Yes, the registrations for the poster competition and Genomics Forum are different. Submitting a poster does not guarantee you entry to Genomics Forum.
We are only accepting poster abstracts until March 31, which you can submit here. If chosen, you'll be expected to attend Genomics Forum in person so you can present your poster during the lunchtime session.

How do I update/change or cancel my registration information?
If you have already registered for the event and want to update, change or cancel your registration information, go to REGISTER and follow the link at the bottom of the page that says "Already Registered? View or modify your existing registration."
You will be prompted to sign in. Use the email address you used to register for this event. After signing in, click on the button to "MAKE CHANGES" and follow the subsequent steps to update your information or cancel your registration.
Can I switch between virtual and in-person attendance?
Can I switch between virtual and in-person attendance?
Yes. You can switch from in-person to virtual attendance at any time by updating your registration online. Switching from virtual to in-person will depend on seating availability — please contact us before April 29 to request a change.
How do I get to the venue?
How do I get to the venue?
For registrants attending in person, Genome BC's Annual Genomics Forum 2026 will be held at UBC Robson Square Theatre (C300), located at 800 Robson Street, Vancouver, BC.
UBC Robson Square is walkable from the Vancouver Art Gallery and Vancouver Convention Centre.
Public Transit: The venue is a short walk from the Burrard, Granville, and Vancouver City Centre (Canada Line) SkyTrain stations. All these stations are part of Vancouver's transit network, including the trains, SeaBus, buses and the West Coast Express. Transit schedules can be found at TransLink's website.
Driving and Parking: To access the parking lot for 800 Robson Street (Lot 189), head south on Howe Street to the corner at Nelson Street. The parking lot entrance will be on your right, just before Nelson. Note that Howe is a one-way street. Once you have entered the parking lot, follow the directional signs to UBC Robson Square. The maximum height for the Robson Square parking garage is 6.5 feet. Additional parking options are also available in the surrounding area.

Registrations will open at 8AM. Confirmed registrations are valid for the whole day and you can come and go as you need.

Registrants who chose the virtual option can follow the link to the Event Hub to watch the broadcast. No third-party tools are necessary to connect and participate.
We'll also send you an email with a link and a reminder before the event starts.

During the session, there will be a Q&A section located beside the video feed. Use this to type in your question. Questions will be moderated before they appear on the public list, where they can be upvoted by the audience. Alternatively, you can join in the Q&A at Slido using the event code GBCGF2026 on another browser or device (eg. phone / tablet).

That’s okay! Recordings of each session from the Genomics Forum will be available to view on-demand afterward.

Yes, in-person attendees will be provided with: Light refreshments, coffee and tea will be available during breaks. Lunch also will be provided.

Yes, all sessions will be recorded and made available for on-demand viewing after the event. Access details will be provided via email.

On-demand recordings will always be available on this website. You will also be able to view on-demand content via Genome BC's YouTube Channel two weeks after the event.
