For two years an Expert Advisory Group has worked together to counsel the government on a Pan-Canadian Health Data Strategy.  They had published three reports focusing on barriers and how to overcome them to improve data sharing.  Their proposal is to establish a learning health system in Canada where data support insights that supports better patient care. Dr. McGrail will also describe the resources available to support multi-jurisdictional research, such as the Health Data Research Network Canada.

In this session you will learn the essential components of establishing a successful learning health system:

  • Common policy framework for data sharing
  • Interoperable data standards
  • Common person-centric data architecture
  • Improved health data literacy
  • Sound and actionable research and analysis
